Our History

Since prehistoric times people have lived and travelled through these valleys. Water has been a powerful resource of industry, such as the visionary New Lanark mills. The great country estates with their designed landscapes impacted significantly on how the valleys look today. Their beauty has inspired poets, writers and artists and attracted tourists in the past and the present.

We will celebrate and explore the history, art and culture of the valleys through a range of art focussed projects.
