Make Your Way is looking to commission 4 separate residencies; one in Stonehouse + Glassford, one in Lanark, one in Larkhall and one in Carluke to work on an exciting large scale Arts and Heritage project during February 2017.

Make Your Way, as part of the Clyde and Avon Valley Landscape Partnership, has been undertaking a series of investigations and workshops since October including Dorodango (making mud balls), Periscope Walks and Mapping. Working alongside SYSTRA we are developing a set of tools and experiences that will support knowledge and participation in the Heritage of the area while encourage people to walk and cycle for leisure and for daily journeys.

The residency will respond to routes and themes that have been highlighted through the initial work and the communities that surround them focusing on schools, places of work/employers and travel hubs.

The aim of the residency will be to collaborate with the Make Your Way team to develop an in depth understanding of the specific routes while highlighting possible locations and themes for interventions. The intention of the residency would be to work creatively and collaboratively with local people to better understand what would enhance their journey along these routes. This can be undertaken through a series of workshops, onsite events or temporary interventions that will deepen the whole Make Your Way teams knowledge of the routes.
