Garrion Gill

A hidden ancient woodland clinging to the slopes of Garrion Gill.

Scottish Wildlife Trust Garrion Gill is a small, ancient woodland clinging to the steep sides of Garrion Gill, a tributary of the River Clyde.

The path running through the reserve links Overtown and Law. The woodland canopy and underlying soils provide diverse habitats and cover for a variety of wildlife including badgers and roe deer. Woodland birds include spotted flycatcher, sparrowhawk, linnet, kestrel and woodcock.

This secluded woodland bursts into colour with wildflowers from April to August and is stunning to see in autumn colours too.
