Join us to celebrate the history of the Clyde and Avon Valley at the second annual CAVLP Heritage and Landscape Conference.

This FREE conference aims to bring together people who are interested in the historical environment and landscape of the Clyde and Avon Valley.  The conference will celebrate the fantastic archaeological and historical research that is being carried out in the valleys by CAVLP Heritage volunteers, local heritage groups and the wider community.

We have speakers from all around the Clyde and Avon Valley coming to talk about the work that they have been doing in the landscape over the last year, from archaeological surveys to historical research projects.

Speakers and talks confirmed so far include:

  • Richard Oram, University of Stirling: Key Note lecture

  • Crispin W. Hayes, Eco-Consultancy: The CAVLP orchard survey

  • Graham U'ren, Falls of Clyde Heritage Group: The work of the heritage group and history of the falls of the Clyde

  • John Young, Stonehouse Heritage Group: The Glassart

  • Sylvia Russell, Lanark Development Trust:The William Wallace Heritage Trail 

  • CAVLP Heritage volunteers: archaeological and historical research in the Clyde and Avon Valley

  • Glorious Gardens volunteers: Result of the Glorious Gardens project

  • Eric Gardner, CAVLP Heritage Volunteer: The archaeology of Chatelherault

  • Kenneth Tomory, CAVLP Heritage Volunteer: Local Landscape Hero's - Stones, Quarries and Palaces
