Event's Address:

John Hastie Park, Strathaven

Join the Clyde River Foundation as they survey the aquatic wildlife of the River Avon – drop by to meet the inhabitants of your local stretch and find out what lives there. 21 local primary schools have participated in ‘Salmon Homecoming’ this year, an education project celebrating the improved access for migratory fish at two weirs on the river. There will be a live demonstration of electrofishing, fish, aquatic invertebrates and plenty of craft to keep young ones occupied. Wrap up well - wellington boots with good grip would be ideal. Very well behaved dogs might be okay however we don’t want to scare off the wildlife…particularly the fish!

This event is one of four Salmon Homecoming Celebration events, as below:
Saturday 6 May, 11am - 1pm, Smithycroft, Hamilton
Saturday 13 May, 11am - 1pm, Millheugh, Larkhall
Mon 5 June, 5:30 - 7:30pm, Linthaugh Bridge, Stonehouse Park
Thurs 22 June, 5:30 - 7:30, John Hastie Park, Strathaven
