Please join local school children from Kirkfieldbank and Underbank Primary Schools supported by the Lanarkshire Songwriters as they present the premier of 'Apple Day', a collection of new songs written about the historic Clyde Valley orchards through a project led by the Lanarkshire Songwriters.  Overton Primary also took part in the songwriting project and contributed to the final CD but are unable to perform at the event. However, their songs will be performed by the Songwriters on their behalf.

Songs will include such gems as ‘Apple Day,’ ‘Dung!’ ‘The Wee Rab Rap,’ and ‘Walking Down to the Clyde,’ which were written by the pupils during workshops with the Lanarkshire Songwriters.  The project brought lots of enjoyment and fun for all the children who took part in this unique collaboration to link up the history of fruit growing in the Clyde Valley with music and song.

The project was funded by Heritage Lottery Fund supported Clyde and Avon Valley Landscape Partnership (CAVLP) and Renewable Energy Fund as managed by South Lanarkshire Council.
